Call for Abstracts and Submission Procedure

Ruralia Society, with the cooperation of other scientific organizations, Georgofili Academy, Agriculture Academy of Torino, is organizing a symposium on  “Architecture and Landscape in the ethnic minority territories”   which will take place in Alagna Valsesia (VC- Italy) the 7-8 and 9th September 2018.

 

Alagna,  an alpine village at the foot of Monte Rosa, hosted an important Walser colony which left important and recognizable finger prints not only in Alagna, but in the whole upper  Val Sesia

RURALIA, a scientific society focused on the knowledge, conservation and valorization of the rural architecture and landscape, will be 20 years old in 2018.

To celebrate this anniversary there will be with an international symposium. The gathering of participants from different regions across Europe is expected to stimulate the exchange of knowledge and ideas..

The event is designed as a scientific 2 day conference with call for abstracts, oral presentations and posters. Technical tours to special significant sites in the area are organized on the third  day.

Official languages will be Italian and English.

 

The conference will take place at the Unione Alagnese Theater located in the Alagna centre close to the church.
The Theater is a significant XIX sec building well preserved outside and inside in its original state.

Special rooms will be available  to  create working to  groups on specific topics in order to build up reasearch projects.

Not far from the Unione Alagnese theater is located the Walser Museum which will  give the participants an opportunity to learn about  the architecture and Walser civilization

All authors wishing to present papers at the congress are required to submit their abstract using the abstract submission system.

Only abstracts submitted using the online submission will be considered for the congress. Abstracts are required in Italian or English.

Abstracts should not contain any tables or figures.

Presentations will be accepted as oral presentations or posters. Please indicate your preference upon submission.

Upon submission, authors are further required to select one possible session where they think their work fits in best.
